Training and consulting
Learn the market. Or let us solve a specific problem.
Consulting for specific challenges. Training for internal teams. Both delivered by people who work on Chinese social platforms every day.
Why this exists
Some brands need knowledge, not more hands.
Not every brand is ready to outsource everything. Some have internal teams. What they need is the knowledge layer.
Platform knowledge gaps
How the platforms work in practice. What formats actually perform versus what looks good in a pitch. How AI fits into a production workflow.
Specific problems to solve
Numbers flat after a year of posting. Parted ways with an agency. KOL spend might be bloated but you don't have the data to prove it.
Advice from practitioners
Our team runs live campaigns daily. The advice comes from what's working this month, on the platforms we're in every day.
Flexible engagement
A single strategy session or a multi-week project. Some brands move into monthly management after consulting. Others check in once a year. Whatever fits.
Consulting
Consulting services
Strategy consulting
Platform selection, content planning, campaign architecture, KOL strategy, social commerce, competitive positioning. Single session or multi-week project. Every engagement ends with a document you can act on.
Content and AIGC consulting
We audit your production workflow and figure out where AI adds speed without losing quality. Prompt frameworks, custom model training, tool selection. The question isn't whether to adopt it. It's how.
Performance audits
Accounts, content, engagement, ad spend, KOL partnerships, competitive position. Written report: what's working, what isn't, what to change. Use it yourself or pass it to your agency.
Social listening
Brand mentions, sentiment, trending conversations, competitor activity across RedNote, Douyin, WeChat, Weibo, and Zhihu. Automated tools combined with manual checks from our Shanghai team.
Competitor watch
Monthly or quarterly reports on your top 5 to 10 competitors: content themes, posting cadence, engagement trends, KOL partnerships, ad activity, new launches.
KOL risk assessment
Pre-collaboration due diligence on KOLs and celebrities. Past controversies, political sensitivities, brand conflicts, fake followers, audience quality.
Crisis planning
The best time to build a crisis plan is before you need one.
What to do if a KOL partnership backfires. How to respond if a product gets negative attention on RedNote. What the escalation path looks like if a cultural misstep goes viral on Weibo.
Monitoring triggers, response templates, escalation protocols, platform-specific guidelines. Build it once, keep it on file, pull it out when something happens. If a situation goes beyond social, we connect you with crisis PR firms who deal with that full time.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about training and consulting with TheRedScroll.
Depends on scope. A single strategy session starts from a few thousand RMB. A multi-week project with deliverables runs higher. Training workshops are fixed-fee based on duration and customization. We always quote before starting. No open-ended billing.
Works well for most formats. In-person is better for AIGC workshops where the hands-on part matters, but we can make remote work too.
Sweet spot is 6 to 15. We've run sessions with 3 people and sessions with close to 40. The format changes depending on how many people are in the room, so it's worth discussing ahead of time.
Always. Built around your category, platforms, competitors, and team skill level. We brief before every session.
Happens all the time. Some brands move into monthly campaign management after a consulting engagement. Others prefer to check in once or twice a year and handle the rest internally. Either way works for us.
Douyin ad formats and campaign setup. RedNote KOC seeding and search optimization. WeChat Official Account strategy and Mini Programs. Can be standalone sessions or part of something broader.
Monthly retainer. Typically starts with your brand plus 3 competitors across 2 platforms. Expand from there.
That's honestly the best time to build one. Most brands wait until something breaks and then try to figure out what to do while the internet is already talking about them. Having the framework in place beforehand means you follow a plan instead of making one up on the spot at 11pm.
